[Updated at 6 a.m. ET, 11 a.m. local time] Bride Kate Middleton has stepped out of the car with her father, Michael, to massive cheers from the crowd. She is greeted by her sister Pippa Middleton.
And we finally get a full glimpse at the wedding dress that might have been the best kept secret in all of the UK and it is a stunner designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.
"Miss Middleton chose British brand Alexander McQueen for the beauty of its craftsmanship and its respect for traditional workmanship and the technical construction of clothing," Clarence House announced. " Miss Middleton wished for her dress to combine tradition and modernity with the artistic vision that characterises Alexander McQueen’s work. Miss Middleton worked closely with Sarah Burton in formulating the design of her dress.
"The dress epitomises timeless British craftsmanship by drawing together talented and skilled workmanship from across the United Kingdom."
Middleton waves to the crowd as her sister holds the train of her dress and her father walks her into the Westminister Abbey.
